YISE : Modern Traditional Tea

YISE translates to “2nd Generation,” in Korean. With a lot of research, I wanted to curate a project that involves the important customs/traditions of South Korea traditional tea practices into modern day life. Herbal teas are popular among Korean tradition when naturally healing the body from any illness or aches. The triangular shape packaging made from the wooden textured paper represents the Korean traditional wood game called “Yut Nori.” The purpose of the shape is when each tea packaging is placed next to each other, it builds the shape of a polygon as a whole. The polygon shape represents the wooden window panel used in Korean traditional architecture where tea ceremonies would be held.
